Fishy

I
spent this weekend in the Bay area, looking at fishes, eating fishes, looking at
dead bodies and almost ending up as a dead body.

We started off at Fisherman’s Wharf with sushi at
Sapporo’s. I gobbled it all down like a piggy and when Monsieur Français got too
close to the salmon sashimi he pulled back a mangled chop stick. So, he couldn’t
take any pictures of the deliciousness that is raw fish because then he would
have had no lunch.

Then we picked out a pet for Maza.

She loves to chew on rubber bands, so it should be interesting to see
what happens after she gets them off. All my money is on.. Mr.

We
walked to the Monterey Bay Aquarium from the warf, and I, as always, chose
fashion over comfort and started bitching about my feet hurting. But I turn into
a professional as soon as the camera is on, so you can’t even see the pain in my
eyes:

We got to the aquarium at feeding time. The scuba diver had a microphone
so she could talk to us. Apparently all those fish get along so well because
they get fed twice a day, and therefore don’t normally eat each other

It’s hard to tell but most
of these things are HUGE

The sturgeon, tuna and
sharks (including great white sharks) were really hard to photograph because it
was so dark and they move too fast.

Slow movers were much more cooperative.

After looking at yummy fish all
day, we decided to eat some for dinner. Monsieur Français took me to Passionfish
and I had the sablefish, and jicama wasabi salad. Ummmm. I wish I could eat
there every day.

That night we made extensive
plans for what we were going to do with all our money. Unfortunately, the
California State Lottery was even more uncooperative then all the sunfish, tuna
and great white sharks put togeher.
